DAY 174

We are giving Karson a little more seizure medication because he is getting more active and it was wearing off too soon. We also have an anti-depressant that we started a couple of days ago because at times he cries and is sad. He is realizing so much more now. He understands that he can't move his legs and arms very much and that bothers him. The splints that we have on his arms and hands are slowly working. He has to have splints on for 16 hours a day and he doesn't like that but he will when he can move his hands and arms again. In two weeks, we are going to the U of U for an appointment to see when he can go the rehab up there. I am excited about getting him there because then they can really make a difference in how he is does because they specialize in brain injuries. We are getting him into a neurosurgeon here in Provo to see about a Baclofen pump. This will help ease his muscles so they are not so stiff. I know that I tell you all what a diffence you have made in the recovery and I truly mean it. Thanks for ALL the support that you have given Karson and our family. Life goes on for all of you and I know that you have trails in your life and being a constant support in our lives means so much. My heart is so full of gratitude from all the love and support........You are all angels.

  2. Susan, again, thank you for keeping us updated on Karson. I check the blog every day, anxious to hear how he is progressing---and what a blessing to hear that he is doing so well! We know that trials are a part of this life, and were it not for the love and support of family and friends, many trials would be almost unbearable. We have been, and continue to be helped and strengthened in our trials. We know the importance of the love and prayers of others in our behalf. We want you to know that if there is anything we can do to help our Kars or any one of you---we are here. We appreciate your posts, and pray for each of you. Karson, you are so loved Sweetheart. Try not to get discouraged. While I know that the journey seems long and difficult, the "arrival" will be worth every second of your commitment and hard work. Continue to be strong; you are our example! Love, Carrie, David and Bryan

  4. Karson is at the Provo Rehab and Nursing right across from the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center on 500 West in Provo on the west side of the hospital. He is in room 402. Go in the back of the building. That is where the rehab is. If he is sleeping, just touch him and he usually wakes up. Thanks for all your blog comments Carrie. You have truly been an inspiration to all our family. I know that you are going through so much in your life and you continue to give to others. Your touching comments have assisted all of us. Love you.

  6. Dear Ones,
Karson is in our thoughts, hearts and prayers every single day and we know he will get better if we hang on and wait for his miracle which is sure to come. Karson has so many wonderful people praying for him and praying for you, his parents and precious sisters. Keep the faith and count your blessings because we have known and enjoyed Karson for over 24 years with more yet to come. Hope to see you soon and in the meantime, take care of yourselves because we love you so much.

  7. We grandparents didn't mean to misspell "THE" at the close of our comment, but you have to under-
stand that we aren't quite with it these days!
