DAY 165

We took Karson to the neurologist on Friday and he added some new medications which seem to be working better during the day. He is frustrated because he can't do the things that he wants to do and I keep assuring him that it will all come with time so not to give up. When you talk to him, make sure that you touch his arm or shoulder and he responds to you so much better. He is not going to therapy this week because they wanted to lay off a week to see if when he starts up next week that he does better. I think that it is working because he seems to be doing better already. He loves his daily walks outside. There is a bike path right by the rehab center so Mike and I can take him out and listen to the river while we are walking. The therapist said that the best therapy is to make all the senses work so we put his feet in the grass, we smell the grass being cut, we hear the river, the water falls and the kids playing on the playground, he gets to see the beautiful mountains that surround Provo.....he just loves being outside. I wish we could leave him out longer than we do but he can't be off the feeding tube for too long and then I don't want to make him too tired. Love you all.......thanks for your continued support.

  1. So glad to hear of the progress and that you are enjoying being outdoors. The fresh air and the sound of the river must be so great for you. Your mom is so right, it will all come in time. We look forward to the next report!

  2. Hi Karson! I can't imagine how frustrated you must be, wanting to say and do so much, but just try to remember how far you have come. You have a whole lifetime ahead of you, and that's what's important. You are here, and you are showing each one of us what hard work, commitment, and determination really looks like. We are so proud of you! You keep up the good work, and never forget how many people love you and are praying for you. Hugs, Carrie, David and Bryan.

  4. It was so good to see you last night and spend a little while with you. We are thinking of you so much and it's always so great to get the information that your sweet mom posts on the blog. Keep working hard. Your work will all pay off, it will take some time, but will be worth it. Good luck with theopy this coming week. Everyday is important in your recovery. We love you so much.
