DAY 150

Oh Happy Day.......The trache comes out this evening right after he has his therapy sessions. I talked to the respiratory therapist and he said that he was taking it out if everything was good with the blood work and he didn't see any problems. We can do so much more, in physical therapy, without the trache. Karson will feel a ton better without it also. We are so thankful that he can get it out. When they put it in, they said that he could have it for the rest of his life. On friday, the speech therapist asked him if he was Karson and he immediately went "Yah". The therapist was trying to get a yes response with his eyes so we were both so pleasantly surprised when Karson answered vocally. He is very much more active than I have ever seen him. I can tell that he is working really hard with therapy even though it is painful for him. He is useing his vocal cords all the time now. I know that he is trying to put words together. I am looking forward in seeing what happens this week with the trache finally being all the way out. Down side is that he started biting his lower lip again. I hope that he stops that. He doesn't have much left to bite off. I can tell that he is frustrated that he can't do what he wants to do and he will get there with therapy. Much love and thanks for all the many things you all are doing for Karson and his family.
