DAY 134

There seems to be a little confusion about Karson's last blog. Karson is awake and at times more alert than other times. He has been able to hear us for a long time but hasn't been able to follow commands when we ask him to do things. He is really getting good about doing everything we ask him to do but is very limited in what he can do. He does these things on command: moves his eyes, moves his head back and forth, looks up with his eyes, shuts his eyes, moves his stiff legs as much as he can and always looks at you when you are talking. He will have to learn to walk again, talk again, eat again, and everything else he was doing to have the normal life that he once did. It is going to take a very long time to get all this done. Years to be exact but he will get there. We do not know the damage done to the body until he can do more things. That is why physical, occupational, and speech therapy are going to be a most for him everyday. He was been getting it daily and now we have him going to another place for therapy to even get more of it. He received his new wheelchair and we hope that we will just be able to wheel him to the new therapy place because it is just across the street. We are concerned about his arms because they are very contracted but with therapy we hope and pray that everything will come back. Remember, comas don't happen like the movies....they take years and years to get over. Love to you all.

  2. Hey Kars,

It has been a while since I have posted on your blog and talked to you. I hope you are feeling better and are achieving goals that you have set for yourself. Small steps turn into giant leaps buddy. I went to the US Senior Open up here in Seattle yesterday and thought about you. Once you get better we can work on joining the Senior PGA tour. Hope you continue to heal. I will stop by next time I am in town. My thoughts are with you.
    Your friend,
    Eric Robinson

So excited to know that you got your wheelchair and that you are getting the best therapy. We are so proud of your constant effort. It will take a lot of patience but we know you can do this. You have an awesome family who love you so much and are so concerned about you. Grandma and I plan to come by to visit you this week. You're in our constant prayers. Love you tons.
