DAY 122
Karson is doing well fighting off the infection. He has been resting a lot but I can see that he is feeling much better. His right thigh has been swollen. I think that we right have done something to it when we were getting him in his wheel chair. We have had ice on it which is making it look much better. He had his trache buttoned all last week for over 8 hours a day. That means that he is breathing through his nose and mouth which has to feel great. He is also swallowing and coughing to keep his airway free. This is a big step in getting his trache removed. They like to see him buttoned for 48 hours straight before they take it out. I am having the speech therapist work with Karson this week so that he can do some more swallow tests. This will get him used to having something back in this mouth. We are also trying new drugs to see if this can wake him up a little more. He has his big appointment with this wonderful Physical Therapy place on Thursday so all in all..........Karson has a big week. Any improvement is worth cheering. Baby steps will get us where we want to be. Love you ALL.

Karson,
ReplyDeleteI am SO proud of you for having that trache buttoned so much of the time! I will be in to see you today and I hope I get to see your big beautiful eyes! Karson, you have been so blessed to have a fighting spirit, and such a powerful family. You inherited spectacular DNA that will heal your body in the same way it formed your body in your beautiful mama's womb. Let that miracle happen all over again. Be at peace as your body heals. I am sending you all my positive energy, and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. See you soon, Lynette
