DAY 103
The nurse called back today with the results from the EEG and there was increased brain activity from his last EEG to this one, which is wonderful news. They are still going to keep him on his seizure medication because there were signs that he could still have seizures so the EEG was helpful in determining that also. Karson was on the speaking valve for the longest time ever today... 1 1/2 hours. He was making sounds constantly which really wore him out after a while. He was up on the tilt table for the longest he has ever been. He was smiling the whole time when he was standing on the tilt table. It has got to feel good to be on his feet after being in bed for over three months. All his muscles in the back of this legs get a really good stretching when he is on the tilt table. We either put him on the tilt table or sit him up everyday which really seems to help progress him forward with his physical therapy. He seems to be having more good days now than bad. He loves all the visitors so thank you all for coming to see him and giving him your support and love in person. I read the blog to him daily so he hears your comments and loves when I read it to him. Love to everyone.........

Sounds like yesterday was a great day!! Karson you have such a great smile and I know how much it means to your family. We love reading about your progress and are happy when you have such great days.

Karson, You are one amazing Peterson! It was great to see you this morning. You looked like you were in heaven when I rubbed your head! Especially on the back side. I am sure you are tired of laying on that head all the time, so the tilt table your mom says you were up on must just be like you are floating compared to laying on your back all day.
ReplyDeleteI talked to your amazing mom and she said they are getting some new medicine in today for your lip, and then it will look as good as it did on Sunday, and I'm sure it will feel great again too.
Every time I come in to see you, there are friends of yours there that love you. Do you know how amazing that is for a boy your age? Kids in their 20's don't usually want to go see a sick friend in the hospital, but you have friends that are dedicated to you and love you! That tells me that YOU must be an amazing friend to them, and that if they were sick you would be the same kind of person to them.
So, Mr. Fantastic Karson with the perfect Peterson DNA, I am planning on nothing less than a spectacular recovery from a guy as tough as you!!!
