DAY 101

Mike and I met with a neurologist and Karson is having an EEG this morning to see how active his brain function is. We have also ordered Botox for his hands. You inject it in his muscles and it relaxes the hands. Right now, his hands and fingers are very stiff. It is very painful when you move them and they have to be exercised daily. We also ordered him a wheelchair so that we can wheel him outside. I know he would love to go outside and enjoy the beautiful summer that we are having. We have an appointment to start aggressive physical therapy at the end of July from a place that comes highly recommended and is very hard to get in to. He looks pretty tough without his front tooth. Kass said that she was going to cut him a mullett and then he would definitely look like White Trash. It did make Karson smile when she said that. Thanks for all the love and concern that all of you are showing us. It truly warms my soul to see all the support that our family has gotten from all of you. Our family's love goes right back to you and your family.

  2. Karson, It was so great to see you yesterday! I love the way you smiled when I said you have Peterson DNA from your amazing parents, and all you have to do is relax and let that Peterson DNA do its job, 'cause Petersons can overcome anything!
You smiled SO hard that I KNOW that YOU know it's true! I was worried that you might not look good because you've been sick, but I thought you looked really great. You are one amazing fighter Karson Peterson, and I am so proud of you!

    Dear Karson and family,
I have learned that stimulation of all kinds is the ticket to getting Karson better. I talked to a Special Ed. teacher from So. Sevier and she told me about a boy that was just like Karson and now he's doing so well that he has graduated from high school and walks in the pool every day with a walker. I was so excited that I wanted to tell you about it immediately. Stimulation of any sort is exactly what we all need to do.....like rubbing his arms and legs with something that is not too rough and getting him to look all around with his eyes going in a circle. We're sure you know all about this , but I was very intrigued. Anything we can do to get this wonderful kid better and back to us is a worthwhile project. Love to all of you and God Bless. From Grandma Mona

  8. We were in Provo yesterday for Wade's birthday party. We stopped by on our way home for just a minute. Karson, you looked so good to us. We could tell you were resting so we didn't want to bother you. It was so hot and we had Jon's little boys in the truck so we didn't stay long. This week I have been thinking a lot about Grandpa King. It has been 5 years this week that he left us and I know that he is praying for you too. He thought so much of you, so I know that he is by your side often. We are so happy to hear from your amazing mother as she keeps us updated on the blog. Our love and concern goes out to all of you.
    Love always,
    Aunt Lana
