Day 310

Today was the last day of Karson's battle. He passed away at 5:30 this morning. We will all miss him so much. Anybody who met Karson will never forget him. We will be holding a viewing on Thursday evening and a Celebration of Life will be Friday around noon. Once all of the plans have been set, we will let everyone know the details. In lieu of flowers, please donate money in Karson's name to your local homeless shelter or food bank.Thank you all for your continual love and support. These last ten months have been very trying and there is no way we could have gotten through it without any of you. Karson's motto explains it best, "Life's short, play it cool"Much love to you all!Karson we love you and this is only the beginning for you, you will be missed.Mike, Susan, Kass and Karissa

  3. I still remember my first day of school when I moved to Utah in 2nd grade. My mom liked your name so much she named my little bro after you. So many fun memories we had, but happy that you are in a better place now. See you on the other side my friend!

  4. I would often randomly see Karson when I worked at the Cheesecake Factory in college; he was always with family members when I'd see him and he always seemed so content and always would stop to say hi. He will be missed.
Much love, prayers, and good energy to you all.

We will never forget taking Karson to California while he was in high school. He was looking for a gift for his Mom the entire time. It was great to see a teenage boy thinking about his Mom while on a trip. He had a big soft heart for his family and friends.

Karson's name is extra special in our family and we are so proud of that.

Your family is in our prayers.

    Love,

  18. Dear "Karson" Family: Our prayers and thoughts go out to each one of you. The wonderful blessing for those of us left behind, is that the veil is so thin. You will feel Karson close and know that he is watching over each one of you and looking forward to the time when you are all together again. Your memories of him and your love for him will never diminish, nor his for you. May Heavenly Father's greatest blessings of peace and comfort be with you in the days and years to come. 33. Kars,
How fitting that you chose the 'bluest' day of the year to step through the veil. I have an absolute conviction that God sees you purely for the beautiful boy you are. I KNOW he sees straight to your heart!!! As mortals we are left with the pitiful eyesight that causes us to contend with one another, to kill and be filled with petty contentions. But now you are in that perfect grace of God's love and I feel comforted that you have escaped that pain ridden body. What freedom you must feel! My heart is broken, but I rejoice for you.Soar!

  39. I never knew Karson, but Peterson's have been great friends to me and my family. I truly believe Karson is in a better place and you will see him again someday. I was thinking it would be cool if Karson and my dad were together, keeping each other company, waiting for the rest of us to get there.

  46. Dear Mike, Susan, Kass & Karissa,
The only way to take sorrow out of death is to take love out of life. No wonder there are so many broken hearts since Karson began this ordeal. He is loved by many. We wish you knew all the people who have asked about Karson and have kept your family in their prayers. We will never forget Karson.

  47. Dear Mike, Susan and girls,
As I have read Karson's blog through the past 10 months I have come to know who he was, even though I had never met him. In previous posts you had written that the homeless people were probably wondering where he was, and that touched me. That he cared, obviously, for everyone. And the comments about what a great uncle he was and obviously that he thought alot of you, Susan. I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for use of Karson's condo while my little granddaughter has been going through her chemo and radiation. Just having that little home to live in for the past 5 weeks, and two more to go, has made SUCH A DIFFERENCE to this little family. I only hope that Karson knows that even though he was bedridden, his generosity and compassion for people was still in motion and he was helping people with the generous use of his home. I wish I had known him. But I know you, Susan, and that alone tells me alot about who Karson was. I imagine Eugene was excited to welcome him back home.
