Wednesday - Day Five
Today was neither progressive nor digressive. On the brain Glasgow Coma Scale (rates the conscious state of a person), he was moved from a 3 to a 6 (15 being a normal functioning brain). Dr. Imani (Jordan's father) gave us more insight to the MRI that was done yesterday. There are portions of the brain that have swelled but the entire brain has not, which is a good sign. The occipital lobe took the biggest hit, which is in charge of processing all of your visionary abilities. Also, the basal ganglia was damaged which relays messages of any movement to the rest of the brain. We still don't know if this damage is permanent or not. He continued his kidney dialysis today which we believe makes him feel much better. Tomorrow they are going to perform another EEG which will tell us the amount of brain waves that is occurring. We can compare this one to the last two and hopefully he will have more brain waves. Once again, we appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers and hopefully Karson will wake up soon and be transfered out of the ICU so he can have more visitors!!!
