Friday - Day Seven
Karson did very well today during his surgeries. He looks a lot more comfortable now that the tubes are out of his mouth. He continued his kidney dialysis today and the nurse commented that he did very well and was very strong. Earlier this morning my mom talked to him for about 45 minutes and his eyes fluttered the entire time. We are hoping he will wake up soon because the longer he waits the more rehabilitation they are thinking he will have to go through. The neurologist did say that she thought he was sleeping a little bit lighter today. We made a playlist of songs on an iPod that he has been listening to. We put some classical music on it (Aunt Cyndi said it could be really good for him and as my mom and dad say, "she is the smartest person they have ever met") and also some of his favorite songs, I think he really likes it. Last night Wyatt watched the basketball game with him and Jordan spends every night with him. We all know that he absolutely loves it. Everyday brings more progress so we know tomorrow will be the best day yet!!! We love you all and thanks again for everything. (Larry - I hope this post made it to you before you headed to bed)

ReplyDeleteI work in store 60 and Karson and I have talked many many times. I wish him all the best and am praying for his recovery. To Mike and Susan, I've only seen/met Mike twice but hear nothing but good things about you both so I wished I knew you. I cannot imagine what you are going through but want you to know that those of us in our store are praying for you all.
ReplyDeleteOh, not the smartest at all! Just have been a nurse for a long time. You can maybe try something that smells good too like a Scentsy that he would like. I love the pic of him in the red hat; now I realize where Wynn gets his beautiful big blue eyes. Every day there is progress so hope "doth maketh an anchor"!
ReplyDeleteThe latest pictures are great. Love those Grandpa King's blue eyes and that awesome smile. The music is a great idea and there is nothing sweeter than a mother's voice (especially Karson's mother's voice). He has so much support from so many. Love, "The Ogdens" (Aunt Lana, Uncle Dave, and Family)
ReplyDeleteThat's great that they said that he is sleeping lighter today!! We are thinking about you Karson and we love ya! We love you guys so much :) We will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers! Stay strong you are awesome!
ReplyDeletelove ya-

As Fred and I visited with Karson, Mike and Susan tonight, we were touched by the tangible love that seemed to fill the room. Because of this, we know that Karson will recover. We also noticed the eye movements and arm twitching that occurred when Susan talked to him. Fred and Mike cracked a joke about the new gas pumps at his station and I swear I saw a small smile or smirk in the corner of his mouth. All apprehensions that we had before entering the room dissipated quickly as the Peterson's once again showed the outpouring of love for which they are famous. We love you and are grateful for all you have done for our family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Fred and Kathe Torgerson
ReplyDeleteKarson is improving every day and the Mike Peterson family knows why....because of all the love, prayers and support all of you are giving him. My heart is so full of gratitude for the wonderful family and friends that have showered us with love and support that it is about to burst. We love you all and want you all to know that we will be eternally grateful for the endless support you have given us. Mike and Susan
ReplyDeleteThanks Karissa for the updates. I wait with anticipation every day to hear more news. I am so glad things are still looking positive and that you all seem to have such a great outlook on this. It's true Karson is a strong man and a fighter, and he couldn't ask for a more wonderful, strong and amazing family or girlfriend. Again, I love you all so much and continue to keep you in my heart, thoughts and prayers every day!
ReplyDeleteKarson,
ReplyDeleteWe were so sorry to hear about your health. We want you to know that we love you and know that you will pull through and exceed all expectations because of your amazing drive and determination (it's in the Peterson blood). We have been praying for you and think about you every day.
To the rest of the family, you have been in our thoughts and prayers as well. Mike and Susan, you both have played such a large role in my life and it affects me hugely to know what you are all having to go through. If there is anything that we can do to help out to allow you the most time possible at the hospital whether it be personal or c-store related please let me know.
We love you all,
Reed, Kat, & Brynley

Every day we have more to be thankful for, especially after getting our "Karissa and Jess reports". Karson is our #l Grandson and has always been very, very special to us and to everyone else in the Peterson family, so we need him to open his beautiful blue eyes soon and come back to us. He can do it because he has great tenacity and a love of life that he learned from his precious parents.
